Since graduating in 2015 with a BFA in Painting from Syracuse University, cum laude, I have collected various awards and honors and have been featured in numerous exhibitions and online publications. I have participated in and sold my work in various group shows, many juried, throughout Long Island, Syracuse, Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. In 2015 I was selected for the 4th annual Bryant Park Painter in Residence Program, and in 2019 I presented at the debut Emerging Artist Discussion Series at the Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington NY. Today, I continue to fulfill various commission requests while looking to ever expand my art practice by exploring new techniques and motivations.
Artist Statement: Broadly speaking, my art portfolio is figurative and abstract. I create work through an imaginative and expressive layering process and find a balance between spontaneous marks that alter the image, and methodical ones that refine it. Through this process, various figures, forms, and spaces emerge on the surface, both as intended and as I next imagine. The layers inevitably swallow some elements, while others persist and adapt into my final works.
