Cash Strummer

Cash Strummer is a visual artist who primarily works with acrylics, pastels, and paint markers. He was born and raised in Bali, Indonesia, and is currently based in Spain, where he is attending the Barcelona Academy of Art.

At the age of 12, Cash had his first exhibition in Bali, collaborating with his friend and fellow artist Mar Kristoff, alongside the skateboard brand Televisi Star. At the age of 13, he exhibited his work for the second time at Kinship Studios gallery in Canggu, Bali. Most recently, in 2021, he showcased his work with the young artist group One Art.

Although Cash was once known for his naive, childlike cartoon character portraits, he has come a long way since then. Having recently received training in classical arts, he now explores figure art combined with abstract color compositions and line work. His inspiration comes from Barcelona's old city walls, which have been repainted and altered for centuries, creating their own unique compositions of shapes, textures, and colors that constantly clash with modern development.
